Totally Awesome Beauty Giveaway, No. 3

Beauty Package 3

Yes, it’s time for Totally Awesome Beauty Package Contest No. 3. Yes, this week’s giveaway is made of 100 percent awesome.

Before we get to that, there’s this:

Hot Mama

Should you find yourself in a Blockbuster and in need of some food fast, try a Hot Mama pickle.* Sure, the bag of yellowish liquid looks eerily similar to a urine collection bag, but you’ll get over that. You’ll also get over the idea of Blockbuster video selling the pickle alongside gummy candy and jumbo buckets of popcorn.

Who can resist a thick, floating pickle?

I know what you’re thinking: What would you drink while eating a pickle-in-a-bag? Why, nothing other than crambberry juice, of course.**

Crambberry

So, yeah.

Moving on, thank goodness. I’m giving away another batch of beauty products this week. Whee!

Here are the 13 items you can win this week:

  1. Philosophy The Cookbook (a set of three scented soaps)
  2. Philosophy Purity Made Simple facial cleanser
  3. Philosophy Hope in a Jar moisturizer
  4. Crabtree & Evelyn Natural Botanical Body Butter in avocado, olive oil, and basil (this body butters is super silky, by the way)
  5. Hempz herbal moisturizer (which smells so much better than it sounds)
  6. AETO Botanica bamboo and wild mango fortifying mask for hair
  7. Leaf + Rusher Acne Spot Treatment
  8. Leaf + Rusher Acne Serum
  9. Organic Wear Peachy Glow bronzer
  10. Tricia Sawyer Beauty Eye Slept
  11. Tarte Inside Out lip gloss powered by Borba, in Nirvana
  12. Clinique eye shaper for eyes in Brown Sugar
  13. Heart Stoppers Get a Grip shoe hearts (pop one of these on the bottom of your new high heels and prevent skidding—or slipping and falling, which is more my style)

Edited to add: PS guys, just a reminder that I’m not giving away any used products. They’re all never-been-used, never-been-touched (aside from desperately trying to remove any price stickers.)

The old rules still stand:

  • You can enter once a day until the contest ends
  • There are three ways to enter: Leave a comment, tweet about the contest (the link’s here: http://bit.ly/aFVRmN), or become a friend through Google Friend Connect
  • You can enter all three ways—or just one.
  • The contest will end Friday, Aug. 13. Yes, Friday the 13th. Be afraid.
  • I’ll announce the winner on Monday, Aug. 16.

In other news, Jessica at No. 28 is last week’s winner. Three cheers! Just send me your full name and address (e-mail me at tracey@notsuperhuman.com) and I’ll get your winnings out.

Beauty Winner 2

To enter you can leave any comment you want, but I understand that total freedom can sometimes make your mind go blank (or is that just me?), so here’s something to think about:

Name a trend you followed in childhood. I’ll go first: I wore those dangerous slap bracelets with pride. Because, of course, nothing says fashion like a piece of metal clothed in fuchsia leopard print fabric.

* Heck no, I didn’t try that thing.

** This is what happens when editors go to breakfast together.

Speaking of childhood bracelets…remember those candy bracelets and necklaces? Not only were those a sticky, cavity forming mess, they had to be a chocking hazard, too…don’t you think?

That’s so funny that you asked this becaus I was jus flipping through a fashion mag and saw that those Jelly shoes from back in the day are back in style. WTH? I totally rocked those way back when!
p.s. What the heck is a “crambberry”? So bizzare!

I can only imagine it’s how someone with little knowledge of the English language (or sausage-like fingers) types cranberry.

Jelly shoes! I LOVED them!

The worst childhood trend I can remember following is those ridiculous scrunchie socks. Remember those? I used to wear them with my keds all throughout middle school. What was I thinking!? :)

5 Alex @ IEatAsphalt { 08.09.10 at 9:52 am }

Pickle in a bag? No thanks. I rocked those stretchy pants with stirrups on the bottom, tucked into my socks of course. What was my mom thinking on those?

Tracey,
Thank you for the kind remarks about our pickles in Blockbuster. We hope to see you on our Facebook.

Nothing sounds more appetizing than a pickle in a bag…. yuck…

I am seriously amazed at the amount of beauty products you just had laying around… seriously.

Jelly shoes rocked my world. And I hear they’re making a comeback. But I don’t want to tarnish the memories…

Haha the pickle in a bag thing is funny (and a little scary) to me! Not sure if I would go there :-)

ps. I heart Philosophy products sooo much!

Talk about being in a pickle.

Love that you made the disclaimer that none of the products were used, lol.

My nanny wouldn’t let me wear slap bracelets when I slept, she thought I would cut-off my circulation, ha. I did the crimped socks and tightrolled jeans, mmhmm!

It is 9:24 in the morning … way too early to see/hear/read anything about floating pickles.

I have no idea what a slap bracelet is but I had these very silly bracelets that we’d hang even more ridiculous charms from. The stupidest things ever like mini-microwave ovens. Go figure.

[Reply]

27 Ashley S { 08.09.10 at 12:29 pm }

Haaa, I wore those braclets too and um, tight-rolled my gibeaus (sp?)…hahaha!

[Reply]

28 Nicki { 08.09.10 at 12:51 pm }

You will laugh but I recently bought some reflective bracelets to wear while running early morning. They are, you guessed it, slap bracelets.

I had one of those slap bracelets too! I also had a plastic bracelet and choker necklace that resembled tatoos – don’t know what I was thinking :-0.

What trend DIDN’T I participate in? Slap bracelets- for sure. Collecting Hello Kitty Crap… ahem, I mean stuff- check. Doing the macarena like it was going out of style (which it was…)-check

Too much info? Sorry, just wanting to win! :)

Are you an editor?! …I would love to even do that now – to read…? ;) I don’t know what really goes on of course…

Great Give-Away!!! And great question! (and yes, I totally would make some stupid un-related comment otherwise…)

So – childhood trend? – yikes…I’m getting old, I can’t even think back that far…I smoked and did weed…KIDDING!!! Haha :) Keeping you on your toes.

No…ummm…slap bracelet…when I was really little(r?) – I admit to having Troll dolls…yes…and catching tadpoles even though I didn’t want to, but all the kids were doing it…

Um, I don’t think I’ve been IN a blockbuster in the last 5 years. I’m a Netflix kinda gal! As for slap bracelets – heck to the yeah! I also wore those little plastic slidey things on my t-shirt to cinch it up all nice and cute-like. Oh and I wore bodysuits (adult onesies – snaps in the crotch and all!)

[Reply]

34 Sarah { 08.09.10 at 6:47 pm }

Remember when they sold those huge pickles at the deli in supermarkets? My sister and would always beg for one!

A trend that I followed was I HAD to have Started jacket in Middle School like everyone else… even thought I had absolutely NO clue about any of the sports teams… just which teams were popular. Of course my dad eventually got me one but it was the for a team NO one had any clue about… of course lol

[Reply]

35 katie { 08.09.10 at 7:40 pm }
