When Work Calls

Pens in hair

Yup, that’s what my hair looks like always.

Confession: I’ve been swamped with work this weekend.

Reality: This post is much lamer than it should be.

Hope: You’ll forgive and forget.

Because I’m still in a mad dash to complete work that needs to get done right now, I’m leaving you with some interesting reads.

The New York Times ran an interview with Dr. Vijay Vad, who just wrote a book about easing chronic pain without meds. As you can imagine, this captured my attention because a) I’m blessed with chronic pain, and b) meds have failed me. It also piggybacks on our discussion of alternative meds last week.

This Fit Sugar roundup of celebrity trainer tweets is worth reading for all the wrong reasons. You probably won’t walk away with any valuable knowledge, but you’ll see why celeb trainers are worth following on Twitter. And the reason is: So you don’t miss jems like this: “Take a long deep breath. Let it go. Take another. Repeat all day.” So that’s why I’ve been passing out…

I like the idea of helping charities, but as you all know, 5Ks aren’t my thing. Neither are 1Ks in case you’re interested. I blame the knees. Anyhow, I had to laugh at this article on sleeping for charity. Do you know how much money I could raise if I were paid by the hour of sleep? A lot.

Whatdya think … wanna donate to the Tracey Sleeps for (fill in charity)? If you’re on Twitter, do you follow any celeb trainers that give good tips?

ACK! Working on the weekend? I hate that! I follow a lot of celebrity personal trainers on twitter. I love Valerie Waters…she always says, “You are one workout away from a good mood.” I tend to agree. ;-)

I follow Jillian Michaels…not totally sure why, I just do. I bet some other ones are comical though. Count me in for raising money to sleep! I sleep more, or at least try to, then anyone I know.

If I had a penny for every minute that I simply just sit and eat…I would be a billionaire – beyond that really.

Giggling over the celeb trainer tweets.

Weird about the napping for charity. Is that for real??

Ohhhh Twitter!!! How I wish I knew how you worked and that I could get on you at work. That sounded dirty…

Sleeping for charity – sign me up, too!

Sleeping for charity might be more difficult for me than running for charity. Because I’m getting next to nothing when it comes to sleep. But I could totally do some sitting on my ass for charity.
I follow Bob and Jillian…I don’t know why. I get more useful tips by following women’s health magazine. Or by looking up the info myself.

Classic. I’m on the Race Committee for the Puget Sound Komen Race for the Cure and we have a “sleep in for the Cure” option. It’s a great option for people who want to support the race but can’t make the Race because they are physically unable, out of town, or don’t want to wake up and be at Seattle Center by 8:30 am on a Sunday ;)

Sorry you are so swamped at work! I hope it calms down soon. I don’t follow any trainers that I know of – but I probably should! I don’t tweet very much anymore. I had a hard time being on there enough.

I hope that your workload lets up soon…nothing worst than having to work on the weekend. Well you could have to take care of Maya on the weekend, in which case work would definitely be the preferable alternative.

Tell your hubby the iPad is totally overrated. It’s just a big iPhone!

Ameena–This is very good news. I’m going to make The Man read your comment 12 times or until he stops begging for one.

I follow fitequip as we are affiliated via my blog. They post some good stuff. Fittipdaily.com (Adreeza Ali) another blog I link with posts some good stuff on celeb diets and her blog specialises in it. Most of the content is hard to read though but if you find a good article let us know. Fitsugar is pretty good too.
