Skills I Wish I Had

We all aren’t created equal. (What? You really thought we were? Nah, my knees prove otherwise.) I’m generally OK being a gimp, but sometimes I wish there were a few skills I could add to my resumé.

Like resisting chocolate. If I possessed this skill, I could stare down a warm molten chocolate cake and not feel the sweet taste on my tongue without even opening my mouth.

Or maybe making lunch with my mind. That way I could 100 percent relax every night without knowing I’d have to make my lunch some time before I went to bed. Because that some time is usually 11 p.m. right about when I start getting exhausted.

And of course, karate-chopping skills. Just because it’d be so super cool.

What skills do you wish you could pick up?

I wish I could play ANY sport involving a ball. I have the worst eye-hand coordination (everyone agrees) and I can’t play volleyball, softball, basketball, tennis…any of it! Ugh! I am so bad that Keith and I went to the batting cages and I couldn’t even hit the softball slow pitch! haha…I guess that is why I am a runner.

Like Kelly, I lack the hand-eye coordination! That’s why I do independent sports like running or yoga :)

Karate chopping wouldn’t be bad either ;)

Kelly and Estela–Yeah, hand-eye coordination isn’t my strength. It’s very, very far from it.

I wish I had a chocolate and peanut butter resisting skill…boy would I be healthy if I did. I also wish I could just naturally be a pro at tennis!

Hahaha, karate chopping skills would make me so much better! I wish I had more energy, plain and simple. I feel like I accomplish a good amount, but I’m constantly tired. I’ve often wondered if I suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome or low grade narcolepsy. Hmm.

Andrea–I’m always exhausted too. I think I suffer from I’m-a-night-owl-and-work-a-nine-to-five-job-itis.

I absolutely wish I could stop eating chocolate. And cook better. And sleep better! I’d also love to be good at sports, and I’d love to have better coordination. I could go on for hours about this one. I’ll spare you!

Empty Nut Jar–Now you’re getting all tricky. Fine, I’d also like self-healing skills. :)

I wish I could be really fast. Like sub 5 minute mile fast and 18-19 minute 5k. :)

Oh – I agree about the hand-eye coordination…I can totally pick up sports like tennis…but only after like LOADS of practice – so it’s pretty darn embarrasing at the beginning…and forget softball – it’s actually not cool cause it’s hard to be “game” for a game of frisbee or football with friends at a park :( …yeah not cool.

I love this post though! I agree with all of yours….and definitely the ability to shut my mind off….and NOT feel so darned full and stuff when I eat so late at night…and then have to sleep on it…:(…not cool at all….

I totally wish I could dance. And unfortuantely, I totally cannot!

I totally and completely can’t dance. I’ve tried, and I’ve stopped trying. I just can’t do it for some reason.
